Story County Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Story County Coalition Against Domestic Violence is to reduce and attempt to eliminate domestic violence through a zero-tolerance policy and collaborative effort that promotes victim restoration, community safety and offender accountability.

In support of this mission we are committed to achieving the following goals:

Provide leadership, direction and education to the community

Open and effective communication between agencies and the community

Recognizing that domestic violence and child exposure to domestic violence affect entire communities

Identifying when systems and procedures are not working

Improve protocols and policies to better address the co-occurrence of child abuse and domestic violence

Increasing public awareness of domestic violence

Identifying and utilizing currently recognized best practices in restructuring offender’s beliefs, attitudes and behaviors 

 


Membership of the Story County Coalition Against Domestic Violence

The following list includes some of the agencies involved in the SCCADV's work

to end domestic violence in our community:

Law enforcement

Victim service providers

Probation and corrections

Attorneys

Medical professionals

Substance abuse services

Youth and human services

Meetings

The SCCADV  holds meetings the fourth Wednesday of every month at noon.
